Care Instructions
- To remove burnt-on food, avoid hard metal tools; soak in hot water to soften the residue first
- After use, wash thoroughly with a sponge and diluted mild kitchen detergent, drain the water through the hole under the handle fitting, wipe dry and let the pan air dry
- Do not submerge the handle in water when washing, as this can corrode the internal screw or make the handle heat up during later use
- Do not use steel wool or abrasive powders
- Do not clean in a dishwasher; dishwasher and other alkaline detergents can cause corrosion or discolouration
- For a longer-lasting coating, add a thin layer of oil before each use; cooking without oil can cause food to stick
Safety & Handling
- This pan is intended for household cooking
- Always check that the handle is not loose or cracked before use
- A little residue may remain inside from manufacturing; before first use, wash thoroughly with a sponge and diluted mild kitchen detergent, dry, then add a thin layer of oil before cooking
- Preheat and cook on medium heat or lower, and never preheat for more than 30 seconds
- Do not use metal turners, as they can damage the coating; use wooden or resin utensils
- Do not use on a stove heater or in a microwave, as this may cause a fault or fire
- Do not use for deep frying, as this may cause burns
- Never modify or make temporary repairs to a loose or damaged handle
- The body and handle become hot during and just after cooking, so use oven gloves
- Do not drop the pan from a height or subject it to sudden impact
- Do not leave salty, alkaline or acidic foods standing in the pan, as this can cause corrosion
- Do not use with the handle screw loose; retighten it before use, otherwise the handle may come off and cause burns
- Never heat the pan empty; this can cause burns, fire, coating loss or deformation
- Let the pan cool naturally after cleaning or accidental dry heating; cooling it rapidly with water damages the coating and causes peeling and sticking
- Do not leave the pan in contact with dissimilar metals such as iron, as this can cause rust
- Take care to avoid boil-overs and do not fill the pan to the rim with liquids
- Do not leave food or residue standing in the pan; this can cause the coating to peel or blister and lead to corrosion
- Always ventilate the kitchen while cooking
- Place the pan in the centre of the burner and make sure it is stable; an unstable pan can tip and cause burns or injury
- If the pan is unstable, always hold the handle while cooking and take care to avoid burns
- Do not use with flames licking up the sides of the base, as this can cause burns or odours
- On a gas hob with a temperature sensor, place the pan in the centre so the sensor sits down fully, and always hold the handle while cooking
